There is a healing silence among the olive trees of Il Bottaccio. It is the same silence cherished by the old 19th-century farmhouse, now restored with respect for its origins. The stone walls, the wooden ceilings, the pure cotton sheets: every element in the apartments reminds you that you are the most precious thing. Here, you feel like you’re at a family lunch beneath the olive trees, with crackling embers, glasses raised high, and faces breaking into smiles, and these places every day.
Two-room apartments
The apartments are self-contained two-room apartments, each with a private entrance, kitchen-living room with a sofa bed, double bedroom, and bathroom. The outdoor spaces, terraces or private courtyards, are equipped with a table, chairs, and sun loungers, to enjoy every hour of daylight.
On the ground floor, the smaller accommodations have been converted from the former stables, the cellar, and the coach house. On the upper floor, accessible via an external staircase, are the larger apartments, with a balcony for having breakfast or a candlelit snack after sunset.
You will find TV, air conditioning and independent heating, Wi-Fi, and bed, bath, and kitchen linen in each accommodation, for your utmost comfort.
The garden and swimming pool amidst the olive trees
A centuries-old olive grove surrounds the agriturismo (Italian farm stay) and features the swimming pool and barbecue area for guests’ convivial moments. The trees, with their gnarled trunks and the shimmering green of the leaves, are the true guardians of these lands. From their fruit comes the Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil PGI, produced here since 1925.
Gourmet delicacies shop
In the small agriturismo shop, each product is born from the expert hands of the Guglielmi family. Besides their own production of Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil PGI, you can find creams, sauces, pestos, crunchy vegetables, and other carefully selected delicacies, perfect to enjoy directly during your trip, or to take home, to savour your holiday even miles and weeks later.

Calm rhythms, amidst thermal baths, country paths, and salt-tinged views
Il Bottaccio offers you a complete rejuvenating experience. You can take a walk on the country paths surrounding the agriturismo, towards the villages of Campiglia Marittima and Suvereto; an e-bike trip into the Mediterranean scrubland and along the scenic roads of the Gulf of Baratti and Populonia. Or relax with a lovely hot bath in the beneficial waters of the Venturina thermal baths, at the Calidario: you choose the moments you prefer to experience; every activity here has the rhythm you want to give it.

Il Calidario Terme Etrusche, just 100 metres from the agriturismo, offers a thermal lake with natural hot water at 36°C. Here you can immerse yourself for long soaks, follow wellbeing paths, or simply let the warmth envelop you. Let your thoughts flow and escape the worries crowding your tired mind.

Trekking among the villages
From Campiglia Marittima to Suvereto, passing along paths that cross the hills of Val di Cornia: on foot, you can discover medieval villages, vineyards, fortresses, and castles. Trails suitable for all levels, perfect for those who love to walk at a slow pace.

By bike between sea and hills
The back roads and the area’s dirt tracks are ideal for cycle tourism. Cycle among vineyards and olive groves, with sea-view stops and the scent of broom accompanying every climb. Bike and e-bike hire near the agriturismo.
Water sports amidst the waves and history
You can start from the Gulf of Baratti, with its dark sand and Etruscan remains, to continue your days by the sea at the coastal parks of Sterpaia and Rimigliano. Here you can practise snorkelling, diving, hire inflatable boats, or simply explore hidden coves freely. An experience that will surprise those who love to experience the sea actively.

Artisanally produced, with hand-picked olives, cold-pressed, following a tradition started in 1925 by Ermelindo and Letizia, the “grandparents of Il Bottaccio”. The entire production chain is in-house and strictly organic, with scrupulous attention to every phase of the production cycle.
Every bottle represents gestures repeated season after season, and brings a piece of Alta Maremma to your table.
Sustainable choices, every day.
Taking care of the land is a daily commitment at Il Bottaccio. Sustainability is not just a trend, but a living practice: they use exclusively eco-friendly, recyclable, or reusable materials, such as paper, cardboard, glass, aluminium, and recycled wooden pallets. The product labels are biodegradable, designed to leave only good memories, not traces.
All the energy that powers the agriturismo comes from renewable sources: the sun, wind, and water. Because what surrounds us is a precious asset to be protected, today and for those who will be born tomorrow.

History and people
Working the land with respect: for nature, for people.
In the early last century, Ermelindo and Letizia gave their land and olive trees the care of devoted parents. It was 1925.
Since then, much good oil has been produced; seasons have passed, rains have fallen, the sun has shone, but the spirit has remained the same: to work the land with dedication, to transform the fruits into something to share with other people, even outside their beloved Maremma.
Today, it is Luca, the grandson, who carries on the family’s work: “this precious heritage lives on in the organic production of our oil, in respect for agricultural traditions, and in the careful tending of each individual olive tree, a symbol of continuity between past and present,” he recounts.
Around him is a small team of people who have chosen to stay, or to return to Val di Cornia, to give value to an ancient craft.
The agriturismo was born this way: as a natural extension of a family love for the countryside. And just like plants that grow strong only when their roots run deep, Il Bottaccio also continues to grow.
“Ermelindo and Letizia were proud farmers. Their hands knew how to read the land. I wanted to continue cherishing it, just as my grandparents did, without forcing it, letting it express itself at its own pace. We don’t use any chemicals here, but innovative technologies that help us maintain the highest quality standards.”
