Il Giardino dei Limoni is the family home you wish you’d grown up in: clean, full of love, and hidden within the walls of one of Italy’s most beautiful medieval villages.
The inner garden, accessible from the private car park, is filled with fruit trees, shaded corners with sofas for relaxing, and a hot tub to soak in and wash your worries away.
The interiors feature a shabby chic style with natural materials like stone, wood, and cotton fabrics: each room has its own unique colours and soul, with aromatic names. There’s Zenzero (Ginger), Limone (Lemon), Lavanda (Lavender), Menta (Mint), and Salvia (Sage).
The B&B’s rooms smell of freshness, of laundry drying in the sun, and of the simple, good things that make you smile.

When you wake up, a made-to-order breakfast awaits you, sweet or savoury, prepared with fresh, local products. Are you more of a croissant-and-cappuccino person, or do you prefer scrambled eggs and toast? If you can’t decide, you can try both! You can enjoy it in your room, apartment, or in the lemon garden, of course.
A word of advice
Save some room for a slice of the artisanal ring cake. The cake is baked fresh in a local Suvereto bakery.

Il Giardino dei Limoni is located just 100 metres from the historic center of Suvereto and a few minutes’ drive from the beaches of the Val di Cornia, such as Baratti and San Vincenzo. From here, you can set off on foot or by bike to enjoy sports, food, and wine experiences among hills, sea, and medieval fortresses.
Cycle through vineyards and hills
Suvereto is perfect for e-bikes. You can rent them in the village and immediately set off to discover the landscapes of Val di Cornia, the woods of Monte Calvi, or the surrounding vineyards. And to end the day on a high note, finish your two-wheeled journey with a tasting of wine, olive oil, and typical products at one of the numerous local wineries and farms. A feast for the eyes and the palate!
Walks and hiking
Gian Maria, your host, will connect you with local guides to explore the most beautiful trails. From Suvereto, you can choose from trekking routes for all levels, perfect for walking in nature, listening to local stories, and admiring spectacular views of the Tuscan Archipelago. Some itineraries start right near the B&B: all you have to do is lace up your shoes and go.
Zen moments in the garden
If you are looking for more “meditative” experiences, the B&B’s garden becomes the perfect spot for morning yoga or reading in the shade of the lemon trees.
Water sports on the beaches of Val di Cornia
On the golden beaches of this stretch of the Tuscan coast, you can go snorkelling, diving, rent a dinghy, or simply take a swim in the crystal-clear sea.
From Suvereto, a few minutes’ drive takes you to the Sterpaia Nature Park, with beaches like Torre Mozza, Mortelliccio, Carbonifera, Perelli, and Carlappiano; San Vincenzo with the Rimigliano Park; and Baratti with its marvellous gulf.
Dining among the stars
Just 100 metres from Il Giardino dei Limoni, you will find La Locanda delle Stelle, an intimate and welcoming restaurant, run by Gian Maria himself. He cooks dishes from Tuscan tradition, revisited with a personal touch: you can taste tortelli filled with ricotta and porcini mushrooms, white wild boar ragù, roe deer kebab, and pink shrimp from Porto Santo Stefano.
The restaurant uses local, “zero-kilometer” products and pays close attention to gluten-free dishes: it has followed specific AIC (Italian Celiac Association) certified courses and adopts procedures to avoid gluten cross-contamination during preparation.
And to drink? Naturally, there are crisp sparkling wines and Tuscan wines, with a special focus on the wineries of the Suvereto area, which the staff at La Locanda can recommend for delightful pairings.

A home reborn
Il Giardino dei Limoni was born in 2020 from the renovation of Gian Maria’s grandparents’ house. During the forced pause of the pandemic, with his long experience in the restaurant industry, he transformed the place into a hospitality project.
“We designed each room as if we were going to live in it ourselves,” – he says – “during the Covid period, I took the opportunity to personally dedicate myself to much of the renovation work and the furnishing of the B&B.”
With him are Ilaria, his partner, who handles bookings, and Sara and Sorina, trusted team members, who take care of cleaning and welcoming guests.
Three women of the family plus one, because the true queen here is Lola, the household cat: 22 years of purrs and long naps in the garden, in the shade of the lemon trees.
