Part of the family-run farm of the same name, this farmhouse and its staff offer a welcoming and authentic experience, characterised by the desire to provide valuable time to those who stay.
The structure, a typical stone farmhouse, also offers a restaurant housed in an ancient oil mill. During summer evenings, you can dine in the garden, under a starry sky, enjoying a unique and fascinating atmosphere.

Among the many activities, it’s worth mentioning the Grand Tour of Val di Merse, a marked cycle touring route of about 173 km with 3,100 m of elevation gain, to discover this fascinating place of peace, distinguished by an incredible variety of natural environments.

The history of La Via dell'Oliviera - A chat with Eva and Enzo
Eva tells us: “The inheritance came from my great-aunt Giovanna, a primary school teacher who was left alone with her cats. There was a lot of work to do to clean it up and make it safe. Initially, we didn’t think at all about turning it into an agriturismo. But let me have my father tell you about it, he’s ‘the historical voice’…”
Enzo, nicknamed by his longtime friends as “il Vatusso”, has dedicated much of his time to make the structure habitable: “I was enjoying retirement when Giovanna left us this house. It took months to empty it. We found many vintage objects: a TV from the 60s, an antique radio, wardrobes and chests of drawers from the 1900s, but also a beautiful stone mill in perfect condition. At first, I fixed up the oil mill, I made a fireplace there for some dinners with friends, but I was immediately ‘evicted’,” he tells us with a smile. “So I fixed up the stable, I brought my vintage motorcycles and my Fiat 500 there, but they kicked me out of there too to make the restaurant!”
In 2016, after much work, the idea of the agriturismo was born. Eva explains: “I work as a psychologist in Siena, but I liked the idea of transforming this place into something to share. So, with my architect sister-in-law, my accountant husband, and my brother, we decided to renovate it. After more than 3 years, on August 8, 2020, we inaugurated Agriturismo La Via dell’Oliviera”
With a look of satisfaction, Eva tells us about what came next: “We started with 5 rooms, then we bought an adjacent part and added two rooms with bathrooms. The following year we also built the swimming pool in the garden.”
Enzo reveals a curious detail about his red Fiat 500: “I’m passionate about vintage cars and motorcycles and, since many choose this place to get married, I act as a driver for couples who get married at the Abbey of San Galgano and want to celebrate here, in this place of peace.”
