An experience shaped together
An experience shaped together
Every outing is built with care, listening and passion: no automatic bookings, no intermediaries.
When someone calls for information, they speak directly with the guide — the same person who will then lead them through the descent.
The first contact is a moment to choose the most suitable route together, based on experience, group composition and expectations.
This approach allows for personalised outings, designed to make everyone feel involved and supported.
During the excursion, beyond the guidance, there’s space for learning: participants learn how to use the ropes, manage technical passages, and move through the canyon with greater independence.
It’s a way to have fun, but also to gain skills, push your limits, and discover something new about yourself.
Small groups, full attention
All outings take place in small groups of 2 to 8 people.
This small size allows each descent to be adjusted to the participants’ ability, with a balanced pace and individual attention throughout.
For large, pre-formed groups (more than 10 people), a second guide is added. In these cases, no outsiders are included, so group cohesion and experience quality remain intact.
This ensures a calm, focused rhythm and lets everyone fully enjoy each section of the canyon.
Marco and Flavia
From the Verdon Gorge to a new way of doing canyoning
“We lived and worked for thirteen years in the Verdon Gorge. It was a beautiful place — but also very crowded.
We had a company with several guides, multiple outings each day, lots of people.
At some point, though, we began to ask ourselves if that was really the kind of tourism we wanted to keep supporting.”
Marco and Flavia gradually chose to scale things down — fewer collaborators, fewer groups — and to work in quieter, more genuine environments.
“Some places stay magical only if you treat them with respect.
Once they become fashionable, something gets lost.
And it’s not just about environmental impact — it changes how people experience those places.”
Their return to Italy felt like a natural next step.
“Coming back home meant going even further in that direction.
Here, canyoning isn’t a trend yet — it’s still something real, something unspoiled.
That allows us to work at our own pace, with authenticity, without having to constantly explain who we are or what we do.”
Today, Marco and Flavia run Itaca Canyoning with a personal, respectful and understated approach.
“For me, being alone with my clients in the canyon, even in high season, is a luxury — and a privilege.
That’s when I can truly do my work the way I believe in.”
