Ready to discover the wonder of flight with Parapendio Versilia? You can have a tandem flight experience between sky and earth, together with AeCI-certified instructors.
With spectacular take-offs from the Pisan mountains, you will soar over the Tyrrhenian coast, Lake Massaciuccoli, and the Apuan Alps, completely worry-free. No special skills are needed—just the desire to give it a go, trust in your expert pilot, and… let’s fly!
Here’s what to expect.
Tandem flights in the Tuscan skies
A classic way to get your first taste of paragliding. On a tandem flight, you’ll have all the time in the world to admire the landscape from above while an expert pilot handles your safety. Take-off is in San Giuliano Terme, in the Pisan mountains—a perfect area for flying thanks to its constant breezes and gentle slopes.
The actual flight, which requires no special physical condition and is suitable for everyone, lasts about 20 minutes, though this can vary depending on wind conditions. You can choose to fly at any time of year, weather permitting, but you’ll need to make sure you wear comfortable hiking shoes, a windproof jacket, sunglasses, and most importantly, the desire to push your limits!
Ready to fly? Parapendio Versilia will take care of everything else: ground preparation and a briefing with your instructor, top-of-the-line technical equipment, and insurance, ensuring you have a unique and unforgettable experience in the skies of Tuscany.
Still have doubts? You’ll be with an instructor with over 2000 tandem flights under their belt. Because flying is amazing, but it takes experience to feel completely at ease.
On request, you can book an HD video of your adventure; Parapendio Versilia will handle it for you.
A 'Sacred' Memento
After the flight, you’ll be given a ‘baptism of the air’ certificate in your name to take home as a keepsake. You’ve truly earned it, don’t you think?
Paragliding courses to become a pilot
And if one flight isn’t enough, you can learn to fly solo. Parapendio Versilia’s courses are designed for complete beginners who want to earn their flight license, as well as for those who already have experience and wish to hone their skills.
San Giuliano Terme is the ideal place to build your confidence in this unique sport: the gentle slopes, a take-off point that’s easily accessible by car, and favorable weather conditions make for a gradual and safe learning process. The instructors will guide you step-by-step, right up to your first solo radio-guided flights.
The course includes:
- A free trial day at the training hill
- Practical and theoretical lessons
- A minimum of 30 radio-guided flights
- An instructional tandem flight
- Complete technical equipment
- Third-party liability and accident insurance
Your love story with the sky could begin as soon as tomorrow, weather permitting. After all, you can’t rule your heart—and you can’t rule the weather either.
Paratrekking
Paratrekking: paragliding returns to its roots
To give your adventure an even more original touch, or perhaps to give a special gift to your other half, you can try the paratrekking experience.
You start with a light backpack, hike up a scenic slope in the Pisan mountains, study the sky, observe the currents, and then you take off. It’s the most natural, intimate, and sustainable way to experience paragliding: climbing on your own two feet, flying with a clear mind. You don’t need anything else to feel truly alive.
Who you'll fly with
When flying is a calling
Parapendio Versilia was born from the passion of Roberto Maggi, a pilot since 1998 and an instructor since 2005. He is an expert with deep knowledge of the Apuan Alps and the Apennines mountain ranges, where he has completed countless significant flights.
“I used to fly a lot when I was young, and at a certain point, I realized it couldn’t remain just a passion,” he recounts. “When you truly believe in something, only good things can come from it.”
Since then, every flight day has been met with the same enthusiasm. The top priority? The passenger’s safety. “If we don’t fly today, we’ll fly tomorrow. We never force it,” is the team’s mantra.
Alongside Roberto is a team of professionals who know the skies above San Giuliano Terme, Versilia, and the Apuan Alps like the back of their hands. They are all united by a common value: a sense of responsibility towards those who place their trust in them.
