After a night in a tent or mountain hut, the early morning wake-up call sets the tone for the ascent. The climb begins during the night, lit by the full moon, creating a magical and evocative atmosphere.

At the summit, there’s time to rest and savour the peace before witnessing an extraordinary sight: the sun rising from the Apennines to the east. Dawn’s light illuminates Mount Pania, casting its majestic pyramid-shaped shadow onto the Mar Tosco (part of the Ligurian Sea, also known as the Northern Tyrrhenian). A thrilling and unforgettable experience for every mountain enthusiast.

The route features diverse landscapes: it begins in a Dolomite-like fir forest and continues to the high-altitude meadows surrounding the Rifugio Del Freo. This mountain hut lies in the scenic Dolomite valley of Mosceta, encircled by red firs, white firs, and Scots pines.
