What to expect

What to expect during the descent

The experience lasts about 1h30m/1h45m on the water, for a total of about 3h30m including preparation and transfers. After meeting at the rafting base in Chifenti, you’ll start with a brief introduction to safety and equipment.
Along the way, you will tackle:

  • fun rapids that are never extreme
  • a stop at the waterfall for photos
  • an optional 5-meter dive from the water gauge
  • a water confidence test in one of the rapids

Those who wish can continue with the long stretch (minimum age 10 years, duration 2h45m/3h15m) for an additional €16.

Safety and useful information

The guides are all certified by FIRaft (the Italian Rafting Federation). The activity runs daily by reservation only, with a minimum of 2 participants.

✔ Meeting Point: at the base in Chifenti, Borgo a Mozzano (LU)

✔ Total Duration: 3h30m (river activity 1h30m–1h45m)

✔ Price: €55 adults / €45 teens (7–14 years)

✔ Equipment Provided: helmet, jacket, trousers with protection, wetsuit, rafting boots, life jacket

✔ What to Bring: swimsuit, synthetic shirt (fleece/lycra), towel, trainers or hiking shoes with non-slip soles that can get wet

Photos and videos, when available, may be offered for free. We recommend bringing your own action camera with compatible mounts. The helmets are equipped with a slide mount.

The Organizer

Garfagnana Rafting

The activity is offered by Garfagnana Rafting, an organization active year-round in the Val di Lima. The center is run by a passionate and certified team that works with a focus on inclusion, safety, and discovering the local territory.

The head guide is Lucia Pedri, supported by Siro Tolomei and a team of young athletes and nature guides. Every trip is designed to offer an authentic experience, in direct contact with the water and nature.
